Extension Capanna di Sciora

The imposing granite formation from the Sciora group to Pizzo Badile encompasses a crown-shaped landscape space that embeds the Sciora hut located at 2100 meters above sea level. The existing main building from the 1930s and its annex are merged into a large form by the third extension, without changing the footprint and quality of the existing outdoor spaces. The calm, compact body takes on the scale of the individual, large boulders. The monolithic character of the rubble stone walls is preserved through the addition in exposed concrete and ground into a unity that keeps the traces of the building's history readable.
