The complex from the 1960s consists of windmill-like arranged wings of the school, the gymnasium, and the community hall with a central break hall. The building envelope is thermally renovated and the interior renewed, as well as adapted to changed pedagogical and operational requirements with local interventions.
Coordinated with the geometry of the openings, glazed plaster fields and fabric awnings, similar to a textile structure, envelop the building. The striking staggering of the sloped roofs is highlighted with a strong roof edge in white metal against the silhouette of the Rheinwald mountains. The various spatial interventions in the break hall, the classrooms, the hall, and the basement blend into the existing structure and incorporate existing materials, differentiating the building wings with the colors of the linoleum floors, curtains, and wall paintings.
