The two new residential homes for severely disabled children and adults integrate into the ensemble of existing buildings of the Scalottas Foundation. Following the striking topography, the two structures line the edge of the terrain like the numerous castles and palaces in the Domleschg. Corresponding to the cubic expression, the buildings are constructed in monolithic masonry. The different openings stand out as a relief of plaster and concrete frames on the facade. Inside, the rooms are arranged directly around the central living space, which is spanned by a vault-like tent ceiling. A flowing spatial relationship is ensured by large sliding doors. The materials of the interior, their colors, contrasts and surfaces, and the strong framing of the openings guide the disabled person in the space.
